Their Fathers' Footsteps Ch10

Roanna, Amy Lee and Tink stood watching the rival band practice.  "Okay, what's the deal with watching these guys?" Roanna asked, looking at Tink with a raised eyebrow, "I mean, come on, shouldn't we be practicing our own stuff than standing gawping at this lot."

"Ro, Ro, Ro" Tink answered her, shaking her curly head and putting her hand on Roanna's shoulder, "If you don't suss out the competition now you'll never be able to improve yourselves as a band."

"Improve?" Amy Lee scoffed mournfully, "Let's face it.  Next to these guys we're crap."

"Amy Lee Jones!" Roanna scolded her best friend, "As Daisy-Mae herself would say if she were here right now and not in Art Class...  Cut that poopy talk now!"

"Aimz, you're a way better player than Pob, Bob, Rob, or whatever his name is" Tink nonchalantly brushed aside Amy Lee's comment with a wave of her hand, "How long has he been playing lead guitar for? A year? Pah! You came out of your mother playing lead guitar!"

"Um, well, I wouldn't say that, but, thanks"

"Oh look!" the rival band's lead singer called from the microphone stand catching the trio's attention, "It's BO, Amy Pee, and Stink.  Come to see the band who'll kick out you out of the competition ladies?"

"Not really, Holi" Roanna shrugged, "We heard your last boyfriend dumped you so you decided to start a band to get groupies because that's only way you can some action these days."

"Holi?" the brunette female bassist next asked, glaring at Roanna, "Want me to deal with her?"

"Nah! It's okay, Ams" Holi reassured her fellow band mate, "BO is just an idiot.  I've no problem with her.  Amy Pee on the other hand..."

"Hey!" Amy Lee exclaimed crossly, striding up to the stage to glare at Holi, "What did I ever do to you, you you...  Hooker!"

"Hooker?" Holi laughed, shaking her head, "Is that all you've got? I thought that being the daughter of Danny Jones lead guitarist of McFly you'd come up with a better swear word to call me.  Honestly, do you even know what a hooker is you freckled freak?"

"Oh, oh, I know what it is" the dark haired girl behind the drums said enthusiastically, "A hooker is a lady who stands on street corners and charges sleazy businessmen for se..."

"Lalaine?"

"Yes Holz?"

"Shut up"

"Okay"

"Anyway, where was I?" Holi went on, "Ah yes, I was about to say why Amy Pee gets up mine and everyone's ass."

"I do not...!"

"Hey! Did I give you permission to interrupt me?" the dark haired lead singer exclaimed crossly, before brushing back her hair haughtily, "As I was saying; Amy Pee has to be the best at everything, doesn't she? And when she isn't she's such a suck up it's sickening.  The only you get good grades Amy Pee is because all the teachers fancy your freak of a dad."

"How dare you!" Amy Lee shouted as Roanna and Tink held her back, "Call my dad a freak again and I'll punch your eyes out!"

"Really? Okay, Danny Jones is a freak!"

"Ouch! Aimz, hold still!" Roanna complained, struggling to keep a hold of her angry friend, "She's just trying to wind you up.  Don't listen to her."

"Holi, quit trying to get to her!" the rhythm guitarist Hannah said, pulling her band mate back, "We're here to practice, not get put into detention for fighting."

"What's going on here?"

Roanna kept a firm grip on Amy Lee's arm and looked to see who had spoken.  Relieved she saw it was Reuben.  "Oh nothing really" she answered him rolling her eyes, "Just Amy Lee and Holi trying to punch each other's lights out.  Nothing new."

"Ah I see" Reuben nodded his dark blonde head in understanding, "Hello Holi, how's it going?"

"Hiiiiiiiiiii Reuuuuuuuben" Holi said, switching from bitchy girl to sweet angelic girl in a second, "I'm alright.  How are youuuuuuuu??"

"Grand, thanks" Amy Lee's twin brother answered her with a smile, "Can I talk to you for a moment, please?"

"Suuuuuuuuure"

"Leave this with me, ladies" Reuben said, winking at Roanna, Tink and Amy Lee as he walked off with Holi, "I'll sort everything out."
